Rating:   IMDb  / 9.0

Minions are small, yellow creatures who have existed since the beginning of time, evolving from single-celled organisms into beings who have only one purpose: to serve history's most despicable masters. After accidentally destroying all their masters, including a T. Rex, Genghis Khan, Napoleon and Dracula, they decide to isolate themselves from the world and start a new life in Antarctica.

By 1968, the lack of a master drives them into depression, so Kevin comes up with a plan to find a new one. Joined by the rebellious teenager Stuart and kid Bob, they arrive at a villain convention, where they compete for the right to be henchmen for Scarlet Overkill, a stylish and ambitious villain determined to dominate the world and become the first female super-villain. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in mod London, where the doctor has to face their biggest challenge as of yet: saving most of Minionkind…from annihilation.

Featuring a soundtrack of hit music from the ’60s that still permeates our culture today, Minions is manufactured by Illumination’s Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, and is particularly directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda. Brian Lynch has written the screenplay towards the 3D-CG comedy adventure, and Chris Renaud may serve as executive producer together with the film.
Everyone's favorite little yellow creatures are back this year!

"Minions," the most up-to-date "Despicable Me" spinoff, is now showing on July this year for that summer blockbuster, which revealed a fresh villain character.

In the most recent Minions adventure, Stuart, Bob, and Kevin are on a quest to a Villain convention, where they can be hired from the "world's first female super-villain" character, Scarlet Overkill, played by Sandra Bullock.

In the movie, the Minions try to please their new leader who offers to make their dreams come true.Speaking about Minions, Pantone, which is the world's color authority named a new shade of yellow 'Minion Yellow'. It is also the first color that is based on a movie character. The Minions made fame in the blockbuster film franchise "Despicable Me". These cute yellow beings will have their spinoff this summer.
If Jim Morrison was livid in regards to a song by The Doors being employed to sell a Buick, I wonder what he’d think about “Break On Through (To the Other Side)” finding myself a trailer for the kid’s movie based upon hordes of evil but adorable little cartoon characters. Maybe that’s a part of someone’s master plan, to help keep the singer rolling as part of his grave through eternity. The tune features from the latest location for the animated spin-off/prequel Minions, joining the 1st trailer‘s employment with the Jimi Hendrix Experience’s “Foxy Lady,” also re-used here, that will put us within the setting of 1968 America. That’s 42 years pre-Gru, as we’re told at the start with the new trailer, as that’s the amount of time before the release on the original Despicable Me.

This second trailer is like a continuation of the initial, which gave us some history with the yellow henchmen from the eons and landed them in New York Harbor. Here we follow them while they hitchhike to Orlando to go to an event generally known as Villain-Con, where they meet their next (pre-Gru) boss, Scarlet Overkill. She’s voiced by Sandra Bullock, who hasn’t been an animated character since 1998’s The Prince of Egypt, and she or he thankfully doesn’t sound too distractingly familiar. Neither does Jon Hamm as her husband, Herb Overkill, if that’s even who that's with her (I don’t realize its). At least one voice is actually unmistakable: Allison Janney because the mother who invites the minions into her car.

Minions is helmed by Pierre Coffin (co-director from the other two Despicable Me movies along with the voice of main minions Bob, Stuart and Kevin) and Kyle Barda (co-director of The Lorax) and it has a script published by Brian Lynch (Hop). Other actors lending their voice to its characters include Michael Keaton, Steve Coogan and Katy Mixon. You can see it in theaters inside US beginning July 10th — or, if you’re a minions mega-fan and can’t wait that long, most on the world becomes it up to a few weeks earlier.
Pantone said the idea for the new hue came from musician Pharrell Williams, who helped create the soundtrack for "Despicable Me."

It wanted to add an "energizing" shade to its spectrum, so it partnered with the filmmakers and mixed up Minion Yellow. "This is the color of hope, joy and optimism," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

The New Jersey-based firm provides color standards for the design and creative industries, and gives advice on color trends. It lists tens of thousands of shades. The new yellow will be added to the Fashion, Home + Interiors palette.

Pantone canvasses the opinions of fashionistas, creative types and other insiders to nominate a color of the year. That then tends to pop up on products everywhere, from coffee makers to evening gowns.
You had need to be an actual grouch not to adore the Minions! And why would not they be? Clearly feeling a golden opportunity to mine millions from their minions, the people at Universal have quickly promoted the yellow banana legumes to leading men standing for the aptly named "Minions." However, some things are better off functioned as sides. And that is true for the minions also.

"Minions" starts promisingly enough. In a dynamite opening montage Balda and Coffin take us through the annals of the way the minions have spent their whole existence. Constantly looking for the most powerful & most wicked master to function, the minions constantly come up short, either accidentally killing their leaders or giving them guidance that is atrocious. In the Tyrannosaurus Rex to Cromagnon man to vampires to Napoleon to the Egyptians, the minions have served them all. Their very first stop is 1968 New York City, a place that is mostly utilized as a setting for high-priced Beatles tunes and foreseeable pop culture references' definitely targeted towards adults in the crowd. This results in a road trip to Orlando to Villain- an SDCC, Minus -like superb tradition where all of the world's biggest and latest progress in villainy are showcased.

While the disadvantage is a delightful range of sight gags and vibrant characters, most of the sequence is squandered on the minions at random becoming the henchmen of Scarlett Overkill' the world's first female supervillain.

And that is about it. The remaining image consists of of an assortment of slapstick and sight gags that feel like filmmakers who've certainly run out of thoughts stitched together to the fly them. A few of the jokes land nicely ' I laughed out loud several times ' but for the large part, itis a litany of half hearted jokes aimed at 5-year olds in the crowd. And that is all that matters. That isn't a film like the excellent "Inside Out" where both grownups and kids can get something to love in equal measure. This really is mainly one for the ones that are really small. The greatest joy an adult can get from seeing a film like "Minions" is seeing their kid laugh and have a great time. And laugh they'll! But in case you are not in that position, you will end up looking at your watch over and over, wishing you'd spent your time on "Inside Out" again instead.
